Luxury Laser Hair Removal with Clinical Precision

Laser energy is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle and converted to heat, injuring the follicle. Most hair is permanently removed. Hair that does regrow is finer and lighter than before.

PRE-APPOINTMENT CHECKLIST

Don't Pluck

  • Prior to a laser hair removal treatment, patients must abstain from tweezing, waxing, or any other unwanted hair treatment that removes hair from its root. There must be hair in the hair follicle for laser hair removal to work. The laser is attracted to the melanin, or pigment, of the hair. The hair must be in its anagen, or active, growth phase.

Don't Tan

  • You should also avoid sun exposure in the 4-6 weeks prior to your laser hair removal treatment. Tanned skin has extra melanin, which attracts laser energy.

Don't Moisturize

  • Right before your laser hair removal treatment, avoid applying any lotion, sunscreen, perfume, or other similar cosmetics to the surface of your skin.

Shave

  • Shave 1-3 days before your session. The idea is to have a nice, close shave, so that there is no hair outside the skin. It is best to have just enough hair to be visible so your laser technician knows what is to be treated.

There may be some slight charring of the small amount of stubble that gets hit by the laser. So, if you notice an odor of singed hair, that’s normal.

PROCEDURE

1. Consultation & Skin Assessment

Your journey begins with a professional consultation. Our specialists will evaluate your skin type, hair type, and treatment areas to ensure the safest and most effective results.

2. Cleansing & Preparation

The treatment area is gently cleansed to remove oils, dirt, and makeup. This ensures maximum laser efficiency and comfort during the procedure.

3. Protective Measures

Both you and the practitioner will wear protective eyewear. A cooling gel may be applied to the treatment area to enhance comfort.

4. Laser Treatment

Using the advanced Epilaze laser system, targeted pulses are delivered to the hair follicles. This process inhibits hair growth while protecting the surrounding skin.

5. Comfort & Safety Monitoring

Throughout the procedure, your comfort is monitored. Epilaze’s technology allows for minimal discomfort and precise energy delivery for optimal results.

6. Post-Treatment Care

After the session, a soothing cream may be applied to calm the skin. Our specialists will provide personalized post-treatment instructions to ensure smooth recovery and maintain results.

7. Follow-Up Sessions

Multiple sessions are typically recommended for long-lasting results, depending on your hair type and treatment area. Progress is reviewed, and adjustments are made as needed.

POST-APPOINTMENT CHECKLIST

1) Immediately after treatment, there may be mild redness and swelling at the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours or longer. The redness may last up to 2-3 days. The treated area may feel like sunburn. Apply ice packs or gel packs (do not apply direct ice) for first few hours after treatment to reduce any discomfort or swelling. If redness or swelling persists, ice packs can be continued.

2) Makeup may be used immediately after the treatment unless there is blistering.

3) Avoid sun exposure until skin has returned to its normal baseline (no redness or swelling).

4) Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal treatment products or services (waxing, electrolysis or tweezing) that will disturb the hair follicle in the treatment area.

5) Wash the treated area and pat dry for 3 days after treatment. Do not scrub.

6) Start gently scrubbing treated area on the 4th day (ex-foliate).

7) Anywhere from 5-10 days after the treatment, shedding of the surface hair may occur and this appears as new hair growth. This is not new hair growth, it is the shaft that was below the skin and is being expelled. It may take 7-10 days for the shafts to be fully expelled.

8) There are no restrictions on bathing except to treat the skin gently, as if you had sunburn, for the first 24 hours.

At the next visit, it is important for the patient to let the provider know how long the redness lasted after treatment and when significant hair growth was noticed in the area. This info will allow the provider to individualize treatments to achieve the desired results.

FAQS

Laser hair removal uses technology in which a beam of light is applied to unwanted hair on various parts of the body. This light is a specific wavelength that targets the melanin—the pigment in the hair that gives it color, in the hair follicle. When the light enters the follicle, it is converted to heat energy that destroys / inactivates the follicle, preventing the hair from growing again

Many clinics offer IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments for hair removal, which should not be mistaken for the newer technology of LASER hair removal. IPL and Lasers work by converting light energy into heat energy that when applied to the treatment area, targets the melanin, damaging the hair follicle and stopping, or inhibiting hair growth. These two technologies differ in the light wavelengths administered by each.

Most patients experience little to no discomfort. The EpiLaze features built-in contact cooling (such as chilled sapphire tips) that cools the skin before, during, and after the laser pulse, minimizing sensation. Some might feel a warm sting, similar to a rubber band snap, especially with thicker hair.

Since hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are necessary to target hair during its active growth phase (anagen).  Most areas require 6-8 treatments. Ideally, they should be 4-6 weeks apart. However, depending upon your skin tone, and hair color and density, this may vary. Our provider will be able to provide you with a more precise estimate during your consultation.

Anyone with unwanted hair. But, there are certain physical characteristics that make some people better candidates for laser hair removal than others. Specifically, skin tone and hair color are the most important. Blonde, red, white, and grey hair do not respond well to laser hair removal because of the lack of pigment in the hair follicle. Patients with darker hair are traditionally the ideal candidate.

No, it is not advisable. It will remove the hair from the follicle, leaving no target for your next laser treatment. This may also disrupt the growth cycle of the hair and render your laser hair-removal treatments less effective. However, you may shave or trim hair between treatments, as neither will affect the growth cycle.

You can begin to see hair fall out in approximately 1-3 weeks post-treatment. Laser hair removal can only damage hair that is in its active growth stage. Although hair will appear thinner and less noticeable with just one treatment, you’ll need to return for multiple follow-up appointments to see optimal results. After optimal treatment sessions of laser hair removal, you can enjoy long-lasting hair reduction. Hair removal is not 100% permanent, and hormones play a role in hair growth cycles, which may decrease depending on age. Hair that comes out of being dormant after several years will need to be treated.
